Join Canbird's
worldwide birding tours and enjoy some of the world's most
spectacular bird species, wonderful wildlife, incredible sights
and unique accommodations.
As avid birders,
we have enjoyed many, many hours bird watching all over the
world. But sometimes it seems as though we have also spent about
as many hours researching and planning our trips. We were never
interested in trekking along behind a large group of people
trying to catch what the guide was saying, or missing the bird
because someone else disturbed it. We didn’t want to be too
restricted to the itinerary or forced to miss other aspects of
the country and its' culture. We also enjoyed the adventure of
uncharted territory – so long as there was a shower and a clean,
comfy bed at the end of it!
In our travels what we came to realize was that it is so much
more rewarding to combine birding with getting to know the
culture, seeing some of the sights, speaking with local people
and really experiencing the country rather than just visiting
it. |
|
What we
also came to realize, as we met other people along the
way, was that there are often couples for whom birding
is an absolute passion for one of them and yet for the
other it is an interest and they don’t want to spend
24/7 birding ( can’t understand that personally but
clearly that is true!!).
So we decided to create CANBIRD World Bird Tours to
combine all the things we have learned over the years
and provide the opportunity for other people to enjoy it
too!
We keep
our trip sizes small, double up on the guides we use,
create some flexibility in the itinerary and include the
opportunity to really connect with the people and the
culture – and definitely ensure that there is a clean
comfy bed and a shower at the end of the day. |

and
of course it goes with out saying that at all times,
the well being of the birds, the environment and the

We are originally from
England where ‘twitching’ has been a huge industry for
years; the US say that more people are involved in
watching birds than in watching baseball; and now we are
seeing a significant increase in birders in Canada – so
we felt it was time we had a Canadian tour company – we
hope you will join us on one of our trips and have the
experience of a life time – that’s our goal.. |
